Dixie, my temporary foster who is leaving this week for a wonderful home, is too big for the heated cat bed. She doesn’t care.
This redbud tree. It is as stubborn as I am. The horses have tried to kill it by rubbing their butts on it so hard they almost push it over. They have gnawed the bark on some limbs, killing those limbs. The tree ignores these assaults and gives me some of the first flowers of spring. How I love it. An old legend my grandmother told me was that Judas Iscariot was hung from a red bud tree. Before that, the flowers were white.
I find a lot of tracks in my driveway. This puzzles me. Clearly a cat covering his bathroom business but look at the size of those paws!
Remember those hard little bud buns from yesterday? Ka-Pow! Spring is here!
Mist rising from the pasture, a bit of bright green moss waking up from winter, and buds on the redbud. Spring is coming whether we are ready or not.
This looks pretty dang good. Serving size of meat is 3/4 C. Only 170 calories.
