The Southeastern Library Association has selected Carolyn Haines to be the recipient of the Outstanding Southeastern Author Award – Fiction for 2021-2022 – for the novel Independent Bones.
Rectangle Awards are given to Sigma Tau Delta Society members who have submitted original works in poetry, critical essay, short story, and personal/informal essay to The Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle or The Sigma Tau Delta Review.

Carolyn Haines of Semmes has been named the 2010 recipient of the Harper Lee Award for Alabama’s Distinguished Writer of the Year. Haines received the award at the Alabama Writers Symposium in Monroeville on April 30 at the annual luncheon.
